Search engine bots

How can i tell looking at my logs if the search engine bots have passed through. I see one type entry that is whois.cc i think or somthing like that. is that a search engine bot. Also how do i find out how many pages Yahoo has indexed for my site. It has only been listed two weeks and we are getting hitsw every day from Yahoo under different terms

normally when you get a url in your logs, aside from the straight up spam entries, you can just go to the site and check it out. The site you are asking about is a who is service which has a bot that checks sites.
