Is there a log file analyzer that will allow you to easily split up the usage information to allow you to produce tables showing the users keyphrases instead of just the individual keywords (report magic for analog only seems to allow you to see the individual keywords)

Also it would be useful to be able to have a table showing the percentages from which search engines the referals were coming from again with tables showing individual keyphrases and the popularity of the keyphrases with users who have clicked through to the site.

Which log analyzer's will allow you to see this information (preferably easily)? Thank you.

My copy of Analog has been showing me phrases for several years. Maybe you need to tweak your config file. Even the sample reports will show you keyword combinations under the Search Query Report.

I would say the vast majority offer this... the ability to export and manipulate really comes down to the price you want to pay for the analyzer. Some give you the opportunity to analyse straight to Excel, which would obviously make your task easier.

I think one of the benefits of not only key phrase but key word data is the ability to then use a mix and match approach.

If you find variations on a similar theme then it can spawn a bunch more key phrases for which to optimise your site.

But as has been said, most tools will give you the data at word and phrase level.

My hosting provides AWStats, but it is not good for figuring out keywords, especially if they are not from Google, or in a foreign language.

My Awstats look like this:
Keywords:
Other search engines - 4*n
Google - n

In the past I had to create my own session tracking + referral parsing software to do this right. Anyone knows of a better tool than Awstats, maybe real-time tracker that does a better job on keywords?

up 10 10,000 search phrases per engine, very customizable reports and fairly inexpensive. Also they offer a free trial.
