In my logs, I came across the following string of requests:

from: 68.184.139.124. Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; ESB{B6069B0C-AEF2-40F9-AA21-AE9E2226D59
15:11:57:GET /garden/BYI.htm [300], (1239 bytes)
15:11:59:GET /garden/byi.php (2776 bytes)
15:12:00:GET /images/garden/BYIfront.jpg (98244 bytes)
15:12:00:GET /images/garden/BYIback.jpg (103156 bytes)
15:12:06:GET /garden/BYI.htm [300], (1239 bytes)

The odd thing is: BYI.htm is a rather insignificant page within my site (actually, as shown by the sequence, it doesn't even exist anymore, has been superceded by byi.php for at least a month), which nobody has any reason to directly access. The IP details are:

Output from reverse DNS search
68-184-139-124.cpe.ga.charter.com.

Output from Whois query
Charter Communications CHARTER-NET-7BLK (NET-68-184-0-0-1)
68.184.0.0 - 68.191.255.255
Charter Communications SKBRG-GA-68-184-128 (NET-68-184-128-0-1)
68.184.128.0 - 68.184.159.255

I noticed a different post in this forum also referring to Charter Communications, so I'm wondering if there's something I should know about.
Finally, what's up with the final request, for the original (redirected) .htm again?
Rob

Hi Rob and welcome to WebmasterWorld.

Charter Communications is an ISP. They offer cable TV and internet access in the western U.S.

Thanks for responding! Yes, I had gathered that from scouting around. But I'm still puzzled at this from-out-of-nowhere request for an expired page. I guess I wasn't meant to understand this one :-)

There was no HTTP_REFERER string?

None, unfortunately.
