I am using WebTrends Reporting Center - eBusiness Edition (V4.0e). Nomather how many (>2) pathes I chose (Advance >> Path Analysis -- Allow thess "Path Analysis" settings to be applied on a profile basis), the end report only shows the top two.

How to track more than 2 pathes in one profile? Do I have to create new profile for every desired path?

Do you think it's really worth the money? I heard Webtrends Reporting Center is terribly expensive for a content site (lots of page views).

I am particularly interested in data analysis gathered from search engine traffic.

About the path analysis question - I'm actually not familiar with this older version of the Business edition, but I have two guesses: 1) this version may only allow the specification of 2 path analyses per profile, or 2) you may not have activated all the path analyses you created in the profile you're trying to run. The fact that you mentioned the words "settings to be applied on a profile basis" made me wonder if you interpreted this as "settings will be applied to all profiles" which is exactly the opposite of what it means. You have to edit the profile where you want the path analysis to run and turn it on for that profile. Alternatively, when creating the path analysis specs, you can check "global" which means "apply to all profiles."

If you want to see the more powerful path analysis available in version 6.0 (and 7.0 which comes out pretty soon I think) the upgrades are generally very reasonable. Backward path analysis and content group path analysis are really useful. No, I do NOT work at WebTrends or NetIQ.

I did activated the path analysis and tried different combinations. The results are same. It might be limited by the spec (but I couldn't see it from any document). When I worked on WT, our support plan had already expired, I had to read lots of help files. It's pain in the neck when having problems like this.

The software itself is expensive and our company won't spend more money on it, so I have to stick with the old version. I would recommand the update if the marketing people still want the reports of path through analysis.

Now that I've had time to try to recall this version, I'm pretty sure there is no limit on the number of paths you can have in a report. But I think the entire path analysis table (all the paths concatenated) counts as one table. Is it possible you have a table length limit that needs to be increased?

Sounds exciting. But how can I find if there is a table length limit? Where can I increase the limit?

Thank you very much, cgrantski.

I double checked the configuration file: all top *** were set unlimited. And there was no error of memory related in audit file. Now I am more confused...

I notice that the table limiting setup doesn't actually have Path Analysis as one of the elements you can change in the GUI. But you can change it in an .ini file. But first, of these two path analyses that do run, how many steps in each path, and how many different paths are showing in your results? In other words, approximately how many lines are in that results table? 6,000? 600?
