With there so much debate on website tracking, what is everyone's thoughts on Email tracking? I do it through hypertracker - but even as I brainstorm over it, I cannot find as many 'holes' in it that basic web traffic tracking has.

Depends what you mean by email tracking.

Are you talking about measuring website activity in response to email campaigns? If so that's easy, you just need to tag your links or create landing pages as redircets. Then your web tracking reports will show all your email campaign details.

But if you're talking about tracking email response before it get to the web server, then that depends on what email package you're using. But I'd want to track emails sent and received (emails opened), and then all the click-thru data.

Absolutely - the tracking software I use also tracks conversion rates and *who* opens & clicks.
