Applying a new filter to a report doesn't change results

We use Webtrends Reporting Center and from time to time we need a new filter.

But whenever we add a new filter to an existing profile all data from previous days / months is not using that filter. So we have to re-analyze the profile which takes many hours before we can see the new filtered results. Not very flexible to use anyhow.

Is there any way to get a filter applied to existing data without re-analyzing? I guess there should be as Webtrends is not even warning that the new filter is not applied to the previous data.

I think I saw somewhere that some filters need a server re-boot to take effect?

There are two options available. One is to reanalye and the other is to run an archive. As archiving does not go as far back you are limited. What you can do is specify what date to begin analysis from if you don't need it from the beginning.

Thank you for your help!

From a software that costs as much I would have expected to get at least a warning when I apply a new filter that the filter was not applied to existing data but if it only works like that then we will have to continue re-analyzing a profile whenever we add a new filter.

Archiving might be an option but we want to compare results with past years...
