Hello,

I am trying to run stats on my website for 2003 on my NT server using Webstrends. All of the log files are present for each month but Webtrends is only picking up July through December. The first part of the year is completely missing. I have the setting at Last Year by month.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your help.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld ismkerry,

Have you tried looking at the actual logs to see if the data is in there?

Thanks for the welcome.

Yes, the data files are complete. I see no difference.

I have had problems with the FatsTrends database a few times and had to remove and redo the reports all together.

That might be worth a shot. Though that is with the log analyzer, is the full server software?

Webtrends processes your logs sequentially, so if the file names do not align in the order that they should be processed, it will skip days, weeks, or whole months.

Webtrends has no way to "fix" these gaps other than to reanalyze your profile from the beginning.

For example:
I had this problem, when some old log files were named (extend1, extend2, etc) so, it would process in this order:

extend1
extend10
extend100
extend2
extend20
extend200
etc.
It was a royal pain, but I had to rename all of the old log files, so Webtrends would process them in the correct order. This fixed the gaps.

Hi ismkerry,

A tip....don't open up the logs in anything other than notepad. Webtrends warns that the logs can be corrupted by opening up in something else, like wordpad.

As far as the "no data" problem. Did you try creating a new profile and running just for a missing day.
Maybe your profile needs to be deleted and recreated. I know it sounds like you should not have to do that. But I have run into some quirky things with Webtrends. Also, confirm your use of wildcards in the report to make sure your not limiting your logs unintentionally.
I would recreate the report profile also.

Worth a try....
