FastStats Analyzer lets you create different report setups for any time period. In other words, you could have reports in the Report Picker for "today," "yesterday," "last month," "December 2003," or whatever, depending on the filters you use. The downside is that you have to run a report for each time period, as opposed to just clicking on a calendar in Sawmill (the other stats program that I use). The good news is that FastStats Analyzer is blazingly fast, so you can generate a report for today, another for last month, etc. very quickly.
I have reports set up for "today," "yesterday," and "month to date." At the end of each month, I move the month's logfiles to an archive and set up a custom report for that month (e.g., December 2003), which I can run a year later if I want to compare December 2003 with December 2004. By using the "copy" command in the report picker, it's easy to set up additional reports for any month: I just rename "Copy of December 2003" to "January 2004," change the dates and archived logfile directory, and I'm done.
