My hosts logging program doesn't allow me to see much more than summary log information (i.e. I can't see the robots path). So I decided to try the free trial at "enterurl" Hopeful the mods will understand that I'm only mentionng it to be specific about the problem that I'm noticing.
So the log analysis site above says that no spiders have visited my site in the past three days. However my hosts program shows that googlebot has visited daily, last visit was at about 3am Nov 22 (it seems to like visiting around 3am). I know this is accurate because I have made changes to my index page on Nov 21,that google has in its cache as of the am Nov 22.
Anybody familiar with enterurl and it's spiders report. Just clarify, my report shows no spiders, nada, zip!
I agree that many (most) hosting services do not offer website stats programs that tell you much. I'm not familiar with the stats program that you mentioned, but I have used several 3rd party stats services. The main reason I stopped was that they all needed their code added to my pages.
If you can download your raw access_logs, then you may wish to try www.analog.cx which is free. The program runs on your local machine and can be config'd to display lots of useful stuff, albeit it does take some trial-and-error to customize the results.
