Tracking URLs

In Raw logs but not stats program

I have used tracking URLs for some time but, ironically, have never actually been able to "track" them. I am now trying to get serious about conversion tracking and need to figure this out.

It seems that Apache is tracking the URL - if I look in my raw logs (using Excel) I see entries like:

"GET /?source=overture HTTP/1.1" 302 232 "http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=my+key+words&ei=UTF

But I can't see the same info in NetTracker - nor does it show up in my host's Urchin stats. I only get the referrer as (in this instance) Yahoo.

Any suggestions? Am I missing something obvious in NetTracker?

I don't know about NetTracker, but another way to approach this, is to do the analysis from the raw log file, using a grep tool. If you are using windows, search for a windows grep tool. It can show you only the lines in the logs, that contain the tracking phrases that you specify to search for.

I appreciate the input, but I would really like to be able to do this from within a stats program. I did a search of the Nettracker help file for "Tracking URL" and came up blank, though...
