just annoying...

Well after a week of getting pounded by their bot, then another week of it ignoring my robots.txt file I banned them from seeing my site.

Then I get an e-mail saying that they were checking my site for a search engine (they didn't say which one) then asked if I wanted to sign up for their service.

OH, the e-mail they sent to was apparently grabbed on a previous visit. (Funny but all of my e-mails are encoded)

Does this bot annoy anyone else? And what search engine do they collect info for?

it caused a server crash here once, we set a them a solictors letter and the bill, never seen it on our class c's again.

They are worst then UCE imho

The fact that they claim to follow robots.txt on their site really irritates me - they got burninated long ago.

I also have been annoyed by them. And just today, they sent me an email saying they couldn't find a page at my website, hinting that it is a broken link - but the page does not exist and never has! They are very irritating and persistent.

They'd never bothered me until we changed servers. Suddenly they were hitting us like crazy. Did a change to robots.txt, and about a week later they started obeying it. Haven't seen them since. :)
