Hi

I am having problems trying to figure out what format my LOGFORMAT should be in to use The Analog Stats Program.

The raw logs look like the one below :

194.1X8.37.1X5 - - [30/Sep/2003:00:02:00 +0200] "GET /about.htm HTTP/1.1" 200 12710 www.DOMAIN.com "http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=SEARCH+SEARCH+SEARCH&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&start=20&sa=N" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows 98)" "-"

All I keep getting is an error message "turn debugging
on or try different LOGFORMAT"

I am trying to run it locally on my machine (Win XP)

Any ideas as to where I am going wrong would be appreciated.

TIA

Karl :)

I'm still scratching my head on this one?

Do you think the above log files are corrupted?

I asked my webhost if I could have raw logs and they said no, so a bit of poking around on there server found the above logs.

I can't get Analog to read them at all so it's made me think they may be either corrupted or coded so I can't use them.

Any takers, I'm a newbie to raw logs :)

Hi curlykarl,

You seem to use the extended log format, showing both user agent and referer. A good start.

How did you save the logfile, from a browser?

Did you try opening this file with a text editor and "save as" in text only format under logfile.log?

I can't, they are all zipped files. :(

I think I need to alter the LOGFORMAT to cope with the extended log format you mentioned.

I'm still getting the same error message.

Thanks

I dont belive you need a LOGFORMAT command in your Config file.

I would try to unzip them and save them as text to see if some garbage is hidden in there.

Get yes as an answer elsewere, if this can be an option. ;)

I'll give it a go and have a look through them!

I've just tried debugging it and according to Analog every line is corrupt, so it must be to do with the way I'm saving the file.

I'm going to go and have a Beer now though, I've already spent far to long on this today.

Thanks for your help :)
