Funny AOL stats in my logs

26% of my users are from AOL but 0% are able to access my pages

My logs show this: 26.6% AOL visitors, 0.4 pageviews. It's obvious what it means but I'm not sure I understand why AOL users would have difficulty accessing my pages. I don't use AOL but I did check to make sure the site would be accessible to them (through Browser Cam).

Ok, someone might say they take one look at my site and run screaming the other way. But it would show at least one pageview, wouldn't it?

Recently I changed my website to a CSS layout (yep, *borrowed* the layout from a well-known source so you might recognize it) and that's when I noticed the change in the AOL stats.

Would someone be able to shed some light on this for me? Thanks!

Do you have access to your raw logs?

If you do, examine the lines which show an AOL IP and see what access code was returned.

Depending on the codes you find, this may shed some light on your situation.

I visited your site tonight via IE 6.0 and then I tried it via AOL. Both ways worked fine for me. You might check your logs and look for the first part of my IP address when I visited.

64.123.

You should show one page view for each of the times I visited. One via IE 6.0 and one via AOL 8.0. Hope this helps.

msr986 and Mark Hutch, thanks for responding. I don't have access to my raw logs, my host uses Urchin and I haven't found a way yet to access that data.

As long as AOL users are able to access the site, I'm happy. I just don't understand the data. Thanks for checking!
