Help customer track his order.

I have seen on various shipping companies' websites the ability for their customer to type in an order number and the shipper can display the status of their order. Is this a common generic form/script to do this?

I guess all you are doing is "Calling up" the order?
I am not a sript writer, I am looking for a script that can help me do this for a prospective web client.

The ability to do this relies on whether or not the data is available to your server, and how the data is stored on the server. There is no generic script that can do this, unless you are using a common software package to do the order processing, or you are using a standard database such as mySQL.

It all depends on what you have.
