Anyone recognize this "24-90-16-26.nyc.rr.com"? I found this in my logs with a username of "noirchuck".

Here's two entries:

24-90-16-26.nyc.rr.com - - [05/Aug/2003:05:24:44 -0400] "GET / HTTP/1.0" 200 21398 "http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Business_to_Business/Business_Opportunities/" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 98)"

24-90-16-26.nyc.rr.com - noirchuck [05/Aug/2003:08:12:32 -0400] "GET / HTTP/1.0" 200 8890 "http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Shopping_and_Services/Gifts_and_Occasions/" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 98)"

Should I be alarmed if another username shows up in my logs I don't recognize? Should I have the only username for my account if I didn't assign any to other people?

How do I track this down and block this person?

Anybody could provide a username. If your site doesn't need it, anybody will get in if they provide a username or not. Therefore this guy is no different then any other user (unless that part of the site is protected, then he hacked in).

A similar post came up a few months back, you might want to scroll through this forum. I think they ended up deciding it was their virtual host.
