javascript referrers - around forever?

All it would really take, would be for microsoft to release their next browser, and hava javascript referrers blocked by default, and it would pretty much put all of those tracking services out of business that use the invisible 1x1 image to track websites.

It would be a great boost for the log analysis people, as I can't see the HTTP Referrer variable ever being done away.

Some people are already using ad-blockers that block them, but they are very few and far between.

Talk about shaking up the industry if it ever did happen. Do you think it's ever going to happen?

It is a part of the language and I would doubt they would remove it.
