I'd like to bind source IP addresses to HTTP session cookies. I know this is not a one to one binding (NAT and proxy will use one address for many users) but this will still suit me.
AOL and some others (which ones, BTW?) have proxies which (through CARP?) decide what the optimal proxy is for each specific request. This would cause the same session cookie to come from several source IP addresses.
What I want to know is if AOL users go through the proxies for HTTPS, and if so, if they stick to the same proxy once they start. Is this documented anywhere?
Also, if there are other such services (WebTV?) - is the status the same for them regarding HTTPS?
Thanks in advance,
