I see tidbits of info here and there about this, but can't peice it all together.

I use Webalizer to show clients statistics in an understandable format, and AXS tracking to scan and analyze myself. I know that AXS can track outbound links I just can not find the exact steps to do this.

I also use Webalizer. Does anyone know how to make Webalizer track outbound links as well. Is it extremely complicated or do you just insert some code into the link?

Thank you for any tips you can give me.

Welcome [webmasterworld.com] to WebmasterWorld, saldesign ;).

I don't use either of those stats packages but I use a little Perl script called redir.pl to track some outbound links (search for it on Google).

You can configure it to write to a log file when the links are clicked. If you use WebTrends the outbound links can be reported on using this method also :).

I use AXS. Here is an example of its use to track outgoing links.

Same principle for text links.
