I note that the results are slightly different when I generate the same (Monthly) report using same settings, same filtering (actually no filter set) and same template. The no. of hits are the same, but the no of visitor are slightly different. Anyone has idea on it? I don't think Web trends will use sampling in analyst logs.
(I am using Web trends Analysts Series 7.0 with 2 server licenses.)
Thanks
Danny

Just to clarify, you're running the report on the same logs, with the same settings, but different visitor numbers are reported?
If it's only the visitor sessions figure that's inconsistent, I wouldn't be too worried, as this is only an estimation anyway. So long as the numbers don't change drastically from one report to the next, I wouldn't worry.
As a consequence, I rerun again to confirm that there should be no change for report using same settings, same filtering, same template with same log. However, I note a slightly difference between 2 reports in no. of visits (in hundreds only).
What do you think? I don't think web trends use sampling in analysis the log. Why are there varies in each reports? So far I can only assume the huge increase of page view may be caused by setting mistakes.
