Photoshop font plugin

Collect for output, preflight, package?

Quark offers collect for output functionality for pre-press, when all assets (Quark files, image files and fonts) are placed in a single folder.

I'm looking for similar functionality for Photoshop - just for fonts - to automatically store all the fonts used in a PSD in a folder.

Is there a package or plugin for Windows Photoshop that'll handle both TrueType and Postscript fonts?

You don't need to do this anymore, just save as a PDF.

How will that help?

PDF stores all the fonts, vectors, photos, etc. needed in the file itself. Nice and tidy. Just give it to the printer and your output will be identical to your PDF. This is something that is not always the case when giving your fonts to your printer.

The other option is to raster your text before sending them the file. Then they won't need any fonts and there is no compatibility issues.

Nah, no printer involved in this, just others who need to work with the file. I want a quick way of getting the font files that are relevant to a particular PSD, so others who need to open the PSD can avoid rummaging around for missing fonts.

Don't think that's possible.

You would have to enclose the fonts as a separate files and have them install it - but then they could be contravening copyright...
