I have a powerpont presentation that has images and text per slide. I need to convert the content on these slides into text format --- in a word file...is there a simple way of doing this? converting that content into a separate text format? or the only way I can do this is by individually opening each slide and manually copying each line of text into word?

The 'save for web' command outputs the file into HTML

Try that - you might be then able to copy and past the body of text in one chunk. However I have not tried that for text - but it is the way I remove images from PP for the web.

Try this:
open the powerpoint presentation file.
then in powerpoint go to:
File>send to>microsoft word
Choose the layout.
To satisfy your request, you must choose "outline only" layout.
Word will open automatically and you'll see your text there (without the pictures).
