Has anyone else noticed this? It looks like Yahoo directory results are back for a couple of search phrases! I am getting totally different results on Yahoo than from Google. Is this a sign of things to come?

Haven't seen it yet for my stuff. Is it a relatively competitive or non competitive search you ran to get the old style results?

And was the Overture listings at 3 or the top 4 spots?

It is very competitive, (hint: especially this time of year in San Francisco and Anaheim). I am still seeing 4 overture at the top.

Google results for this phrase are really bad. Not relevant at all. Perhaps Yahoo saw this and tweeked it for this phrase.

OK.........it's not just that one phrase, notice that if you do a search on any terms that are in the title of a directory, it brings up those links to their directory on top. Not any specific web sites.......

Try any simple one word search like paint or paper..........

I'm not seeing this? Looks the same?

They may be testing again.

It's showing in this order.....

Inside Yahoo

Directory Category Matches

Sponsor Matches (Overture)

Google results

Directory category matches are only coming up if the search terms are in the category description, and a lot of those descriptions aren't all that well aligned with search terms that people actually use, so they often don't come up at all.

They've changed this as well......

I think it's cookie based, I'm not seeing it at all.

I'm still getting pure google results for my search terms. Nothing's changed here.
