The Yahoo directory is still feeding into the main search.

os I thought that the directory(all my paid listings!) where basicaly scrap now with the deal with Google. I had the number 2 and 3 spot out of over a million pages for a very competitive Keyword. To tell you the truth I am new to this game and hadn't spent much time on getting good google listings(DAMN!) So now I thought I was screwed and had to start over, seeing as I was counting on my yahoo listings and a some PPC to feed my self. But on closer look I am still listed on yahoo web results but I have moved to 5 and 6. I am not even in Google with these URLS. So its not from their Database.

Ok So I thought all was not lost 5 and 6 out of 1,000,000 isn't that bad, but for other keywords I am nowhere to be found. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

Also there is a new guy in #1, But he is buried in both Google and the Yahoo Directory, What gives?

I know this is not the right thread for it but I guess this might be a good time to go over basic google tactics as I have foolishly ignored Google and now I am paying for it :(

I think it was mentioned somewhere that adult sites (who pay 600) and maybe some other sites still get a boost independent of Google rankings in the default Y! search page. Maybe something like that is happening re your first question. The second question.. are you sure that site is not a sponsored listing or overture listing, or maybe some other way in which a site can "buy" into exposure in Y!?

well as it turns out I am in the adult market with these 2 sites......

Although I had it listed as a g-rated site so it would not be getting a boost from the adult submission(there was none). And the new number one guy is not a overture listing and has a poor Url and NO PR, so what gives? I have no idea

I to have some sites listed in the Yahoo directory that get a boost in search.

Actually I have 1 site that currently are ranked #1 of 1,210,000 pages.

This site didn't receive much traffic before this tragic Yahoo change.

All in all I got about 20 paid listings on Yahoo, and 2 of those are getting a boost in search, while the others are not gettting any traffic from search.

I cant find any reason why this is so.
