Over the past few months, I have read about problrms ppl have faced while submiting to yahoo. ie, ppl reported on this and other forums that their sites would not show up even after submissions.

Are all those problems resolved now?. Is it safe to go ahead and submit sites to Yahoo now?

Specifically what do you mean? If you go the paid route, they will contact you and tell you why your site didn't qualify. If you are talking the free route, they won't contact you if you are not added.

What's being referred to is numerous reports of folks getting accepted into the directory but still not showing up in the SERPs.

There were longer delays than usual but in each case that I followed they did begin showing up in searches after a week or two.

a site I recently submitted was added to the directory on the 16th September, it has only just (last few days) started to be returned in the SERPS.

So there is a delay, but I think they have been making a few changes over at Y! recently.

I've been submitting a non-profit dot-org once every two weeks, and now twice every week and still nothing. This has been going on since August. Still no inclusion.

What's up with Yahoo, lately? Are they about to go out of business?

Martini - do you mean you have been submitting via 'Free Submit'? If so you may be in danger of having your repeat submissions dismissed as spam. You should leave it several weeks before resubmitting - not days!
This is what Yahoo UK & Ireland say about it:

Hey Martinibuster, I've had more success submitting non-profits to Yahoo UK.

I'll try uk. Thanks.
It's pretty unusual. I never had this problem before.

"twice every week and still nothing"

I think you are over submiting. They will be getting your second suggestion before they have reviewed the first, I guess this ticks them off. Not saying this is why they didnt add you but it wont help. Try leaving it at lease 6 weeks between submissions.

Back OT:

I had some weirdness with a submission recently:

This has resolved & have a happy client with a couple of plum keywords.
