I have found a 2 word search term that has a decent amount of searches according to Overture's numbers. I would like to build a site and optimize for this 2 word term.

I searched the normal search in Yahoo. No directory listings come up and it goes straight to google listings. I guess this means there is no directory listing for this 2 word term. I also did check to make sure other keywords went to directory listings and they did.

My question is if I submit to yahoo using these 2 keywords in my title will it pull up my only 1 directory site as the results before going to google? You could see why i would be interested in this if that were the case. There are overture listings for the terms so I guess it could be 5 of them and me. I think i may have seen this before im not sure.

Any advice is appreciated.

addition..

I just double checked and there is 1 listing in the "web sites" category that does have the phrase in its description but not the title. But the normal search goes straight to the google results instead of "web sites". I can assure you this is not a cookie issue because all other searches to directly to "web sites" directory results.

Maybe by my site being added and having the 2 word phrase in the title as opposed to the description (like the other one listed) will get me in and pull up the 2 directory results before the google results.

Any advice?

cheater, you should be fine if you think it's worth the effort and the $300 (if commercial). I would suggest that you get a domain with the 2 word term in it to build the site on and make sure that you also use the 2 word term as your business name wherever listed on the site. Otherwise, Yahoo may give you a title that you do not want. Use it in your "whois" info as well when you register the domain.

It should definitely be worth it if it will be pulled up 1st before the google results. Are you suggesting that Yes this will happen for my site with "keyword1 keyword2" in domain, title and description?

Yes cheater it should. If you get the title, the domain and some PR, you should be fine. Get creative with the description because you want to get it in there as well but you don't want to beat the editor over the head with it.

Another question:
Why is the search for this term going straight to the google results when there is 1 directory result listed when i click on "web sites". Is it because this keyword phrase is NOT in the title and is only the description for the directory listed site? Therefore not pulling enough rank to come up 1st for a directory listing instead of google?

Yea, especially since the last update that seems to happen if there are only one or two non title matches.
