Unless I'm mistaken, Yahoo Web Sites search pulls from the Yahoo Directory. If this is a commcercial site, at the very least you are avoiding the cost to be indexed in the directory. However, ranking will be more a factor of the content of that listing (so if you change the description) or the content of the new Web site in other searches.

If the listing is relevant to what your customer is selling then it could be a decent purchase. It all depends on what the selling price is and what keywords it is ranking under though. If it is a listing that has very little competition you could probably get as good a listing and it would only cost $299.

xtreme competition in keyword so there has to be some value to it.

Depends on the price. If you think it will give you a return then why not. If it is a pay url then as long as you keep ponying up the money you should still retain good rankings.

If it is a paid listing (US $299 a year) then as long as you keep paying the yearly fee I think it should still have good ranking. After a while as more sites are add you will see the ranking change. Since it is an extreme competition the ranking won't last as long as others will. Like I said if you feel the price is worth it then I don't see a real problem. I personally have never done this.
