Hi zrzava - Welcome to the forums. Hope you come to like it here :)

If you submit your site to yahoo.com it will not show in the European versions of Yahoo (yahoo dk, se etc..)
You need to have website in each of the languages that you wish to be listed in. It doesn't matter if you have a domain for each of them. Each language can be on the same site ;)

Express submission will do you one thing: Get in fast as opposed to waiting months.
It will not get you ranked any different either way you choose.

Thanks, Rumbas.

the website itself has to be in the local language? it is in english, but aimed at non-native english speakers learning the language (not living in the US) i often see sites in german come up on searches.

Rumbas, yes I know that submitting a site to yahoo.com will not make it to be shown in the European versions of Yahoo, but how about Asia and Australia?
As I see, these English Yahoo seem to have the same site listing as the main yahoo.com.

zrzava,
if you search Yahoo.com you should only see english language sites. If you see say german, they are probably from the Google results?

An english site can be listed in fx. Yahoo DK, BUT the content would have to be *very* much aimed at danes, and description would always be in danish. It's not gonna happend very often though.

Think about it. Danes that search Yahoo DK expect danish results - that's why they search a local directory.

raymng,
Yahoo NZ and AU will by default search show results from Yahoo.com, and if you submit there, your site would come up on the default serps there.
However if the searcher chooses to search Australian or NZ results only, you don't show up, hence you need to submit to these as well.

Rumbas,

Am I allowed to submit to another directory? Since my site is already listed in one directory, if I submit again, will it cause problem? As I know Yahoo doesn't allow duplicate listings.
