When I decided to part with the $299, I thought I had seen that the category I wanted was a PR5 on Google. After getting listed, I see its only a PR3. I must have just read it wrong.

Did I waste my money? I don't think this listing will have any Google effect.

I am in some categories with PR3 and lower and it does have an effect on Google. It won't push you from PR7 to PR8 but it gives you a foundation to build off of.

Depends what you were aiming for :)

$299 was too much for a PR5 link in the first place.

Yahoo to me is about traffic, if you ding the dinger they will outperform everyone else.

The main thing is that you are in Yahoo, even if page rank does not help (listing alone should help) at lease you will get quality traffic from Yahoo.

Dont worry about it too much :)

ding the dinger? :)

Is a yahoo listing really that important for traffic? I thought it was mainly sought after for PR...

Get it right and Yahoo can drive bucket loads of traffic. Even if you get it wrong, you will still get some quality traffic from people drilling the categories - and you get a good link for Google and other crawlers to pick up on.
