Does Yahoo send a rejection letter out anymore?

Yahoo used to have a general humor category for India. They then started splitting it up into multiple categories of jokes with a couple of sites in them. This hurt big time as we lost about 100+ visitors a day. I submitted my site under the categories, even though they are a part of the site and do not have the main domain (all the sites in the new sub categories are sub-domains / personal pages).

Here's what I saw in my logs

kulbir.corp.yahoo.com - - [15/Sep/2000:18:56:37 -0400] "GET /sardarji/ HTTP/1.0" 200 780 "http://surf.yahoo.com/submissions/in/1000905/191410-1411.html" "Mozilla/4.61 [en] (WinNT; U)"
kulbir.corp.yahoo.com - - [15/Sep/2000:18:56:38 -0400] "GET /forum/forumdisplay.php?forumid=2&daysprune=100 HTTP/1.0" 200 65390 "http://surf.yahoo.com/submissions/in/1000905/191410-1411.html" "Mozilla/4.61 [en] (WinNT; U)"
anands.corp.yahoo.com - - [16/Sep/2000:17:35:13 -0400] "GET /sardarji/ HTTP/1.0" 200 780 "http://surf.yahoo.com/submissions/in/1000905/191410-1411.html" "Mozilla/4.72 [en] (WinNT; I)"
anands.corp.yahoo.com - - [16/Sep/2000:17:35:15 -0400] "GET /forum/forumdisplay.php?forumid=2&daysprune=100 HTTP/1.0" 200 65730 "http://surf.yahoo.com/submissions/in/1000905/191410-1411.html" "Mozilla/4.72 [en] (WinNT; I)"

My question is:

Now that I know that the site has been reviewed, do I get to find out if it was accepted or not? Or do I just wait around and resubmit with some additional comments later?

I'd say it's not been accepted. Normally you would be expecting an email within a few minutes of review if accepted, they tend not to notify if they don't (unless it's BizEx).

You can also check the What's New section at [dir.yahoo.com...] for the date of review and you should see your site listed there if accepted - this is also handy for seeing the description that has been written before it actually appears in the main directory.

I think it could be difficult to get a second listing so close to your existing one in the structure. You may have more success if you could find a category in a different topical area that fits your site well.

Thanks, the /new/ list is pretty good.
