Just as I thought the week had ended. I saw this.

Apparently Looksmart's top 3 PPC listings are shown above the regular directory SERPs. The deal is setup so that Yahoo gets a cut of Looksmarts PPC revenue.

Good Find Rumbas.

Together with this thread on Recurring Fees for Looksmart Australia [webmasterworld.com], one wonders whether Australia is being used as the guinea pig for a numbner of LookSmart Changes. I wonder whether we will see similar inclusions in Yahoo generally.

G'day all,

I know money makes the world go round, but this is getting ridiculous! Does this arrangement strike anyone else as being somewhat incestuous?

L$ started life in Melbourne, and Oz is as voracious techo wise as .us and .jp.

lemme see ... US$299 per url to L$ to be lis ... whoops PPC now, US$299 per url to Yahoo to be reviewed, US$30 or US$20 or whatever it is per url for ink, AV et al and that's not even counting the PPCs ...

I think I have a headache ... I'm going to lie down now under a nice warm doona in a dark dark room ...
