Paid listing for framed domain name?

hi,

anyone have any experience with submitting a domain name which is redirected with a 100%,* frameset to a free hosting provider (http://homepages.provider.com/users/) - so that it always appears in the address box as www.domain.com?

Will yahoo accept this as a paid submit?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld. I've never submitted a site like this but I've seen them listed like that before.

Is there any way you could avoid this? It may not be worth the risk, especially if you're paying for the listing.

that is what i thought as well. i'll look around for some cheap hosting and recommend this to the person concerned.

ODP will generally switch the submissions to the page within the frame if they notice. I'd assume YAHOO! will do the same. Probably depends mostly on how much scrutiny the editor gives the site. Freeservers has cheap hosting that is pretty reliable with a little bit of stats reporting to wet the appetite.

I'd cough up the 5 bucks/month or whatever a cheap host would cost rather than risk a $299.00 submission unless the site owner doens't mind if the YAHOO! listing points to the current host.

I've seen a lot of sites like that, with the ODP listing for the free host and the other links to the domain name. The PR and rankings for the interior pages of the site did appear to suffer for the dilution.
