Just how accurate is Yahoo's 'most popular' ranking?

Hi guys,

I have a web site that has an alexa rating of approx 1,50,000 and it is listed under Yahoo. Under the same category there are 2 dozen other sites listed. Yahoo has compiled a list of sites that are supposed to be 'the most popular' and lists it above the alphabetical list. Now, this popular sites list comprises of many sites which alexa rates beyond 1.5 million which means they're really low traffic. I get a lot of visitors through Yahoo myself. How is it that Yahoo considers these sites more popular than my own?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Alexa evaluates traffic to the site, not traffic from YAHOO! Alexa also depends on people to have the Alexa toolbar installed. Someone that clicks on your YAHOO! listing that doesn't have the tool probably doesn't count towards any totals in the Alexa database.

They are measuring different things in different ways.
