1. How often does Yahoo update the search engine results page?

This depends on the category. For some categories there are weekly updates, others are once a month, etc. Updates schedule may change - indicating that Yahoo doesn't have a set routine for updating the search results page.

2. Can I get Multiple Domains listed?

This depends. People have done it, others weren’t able to. Subdomains seem to work better. One way to do it: [webmasterworld.com...]

3. Can I get into Yahoo fro Free?

Some people have been successful getting non-commercial sites listed in Yahoo.com A few have reported success getting commercial sites listed for free. Other people have been able to get both commercial and non-commercial sites listed for free in Uk.Yahoo.com and Asia.Yahoo.com

Many people have reported receiving emails after submitting for free notifying them that the site had been added.

4. Where can I learn more about Sponsored Sites?

Visit: [help.yahoo.com...]

5. Will a site be rejected if it contains affiliate banners?

Depends on the editor that reviews the site, and the balance of content and promotion. One suggestion is to remove the banners before submitting the site, and adding them back once the site is accepted into the directory.

6. How does Yahoo rank its websites?

Web Sites – title, domain name, description, PR, term vector in Google.
Web pages – almost the same as google.com serps
Sponsored – paid results
Most popular – clickthrough popularity, editor picks, or high ranking sites from previous month
Alphabetical – from #’s, starting with !, to A - Z

7. Why do I keep seeing different results?

Yahoo seems to be testing different ways of displaying its results. They are being changed from straight yahoo web pages, to web sites, to 5 overture listings, back to normal

9. If my site was listed before Dec. 28th, 2001, will I have to pay recurring fees?

Only sites paid for AFTER Dec. 28th, old sites will not have to pay again. NOTE - keep the email account that you used to submit your site ACTIVE in order to check for updates from Yahoo, and to renew your listing after 1 year.

Disclaimer: this is all based completely on my experience and observations. Feel free to question, change, and contribute to this.
