Hi, i submitted one of my websites to Yahoo! UK & Ire a few months ago and in my inbox this morning i had a email from Yahoo! with subject "Yahoo! UK/Ireland Listing" i nearly fell off my chair. But when i opened it, to cut a long story short they told me i had to pay via Yahoo! Express because they think my site is a commercial product or service.

The site in question is a free website submission service, does this count as a commercial product, isn't it a non-profit service.

I've included a copy of the email:

Hi NickG,

The boundary between commercial and non-commercial in Yahoo is very dodgy - it depends on the editor that reviews the site.

If you've already been denied, it'll be difficult for you to get the site listed.

My suggestion is always to clean up your site before you submit. Once it's listd, editors rarely check - then you can add whatever you want to it.
