Paying to get a new description

Easiest way to get it changed ?

One of our clients has been in Yahoo for ages (long before we came on board), but no effort went into the submission, so the description isn't optimised.

I'd like to get them better results from Yahoo but I know how difficult (or impossible) it is to get Yahoo to change a listing.

The site's completely different now from the one that first got registered, so I think that's a valid argument for a change. But I don't want to wait.

I was thinking of just paying for BizExpress to get in quicker. But will they reject it because it already has a listing ?

Anyone else tried this ?

Have you tried to get them to change it? Or are you just assuming that it's too tough?

Another topic - I have the distinct feeling that Yahoo is ever so steadily moving out of the "search engine/directory" business. I don't know that I'd pay right now as I don't expect the Yahoo! directory to be alive much longer. My prediction - someone will buy up the Yahoo! directory and part of the terms will be that yahoo can still use the directory, but the new company will manage it. Too many signs are leading me to believe that Y! is heading toward being the next AOL and not the next Google.

If the site is listed, DO NOT PAY for a BizExpress listing.

They will keep your money and WILL NOT update your description.

This comes right from their TOS:

2.6 Please note that Yahoo! Express is only open to sites that DO NOT ALREADY EXIST in the Directory. Do not submit your site to Yahoo! Express program if your site already appears in the Directory. IF YOU SUBMIT A SITE THAT ALREADY EXISTS IN THE DIRECTORY THROUGH YAHOO! EXPRESS, YOUR CREDIT CARD WILL BE CHARGED THE THEN-CURRENT, APPLICABLE INITIAL CONSIDERATION FEE. Nor should you submit change requests to the Yahoo! Express program. If you need to make a change to your listing in the Directory (this includes changing the URL, title, and/or description of the existing site), you must use the change form NOT Yahoo! Express. IF YOU SUBMIT CHANGE REQUESTS THROUGH YAHOO! EXPRESS YOU WILL BE CHARGED THE THEN-CURRENT, APPLICABLE INITIAL CONSIDERATION FEE, AND THE CHANGES YOU SUBMIT WILL NOT BE MADE.

Keyplyr was successful getting his description changed for a free listing:

Maybe you should try this first.

We've done it for Pharma sites before. A site for a new drug was launched on a domain that was already in YAHOO! and listed as the old drug.

The site submit form was used. YAHOO! changed it. That was a year ago. The ODP listing is still for the old drug.
