I had requested Y! change my website description (earlier thread) [webmasterworld.com]
Well I am pleased (and much relieved) to report that in only a couple days, Yahoo has changed my site description to the exact wording I requested (remarkable.) This change is now up in all four Y! cats I'm in; however the cats may change due to new content.
As an original free submission 4 years ago, I was worried my site would be re-classified and thrown into that revolving, yearly fee dilema. Y! is (still) such a significant player that one little mistake could translate into big conversion losses. Whew!
kids - don't try this at home!
Maybe this technique will bennifit others: On the 'change form' where it says "...describe your changes" I worded my request in an academic manner; saying something like "Description update to accurately reflect new or revised content."
Kinda hard to argue with a statement which uses the word "accurate." But as I said, I was more concerned with loosing my grandfather status, which judging by this incident, Y! has demonstrated it does respect.
