Yep saw it now also.
They put an link to the beta page a couple of days ago from the first page, and i guess they got good reviews.

They switched the links around so people would have to READ the new page to find what they're looking for. E.g., the e-mail link was replaced with the shopping link. I wonder how many people, out of habit, clicked on that position for their e-mail only to find they went shopping instead.

I did and wound up buying 2 new cars, a boat, and a cruise to Alaska.

THANK you, Nell - orders confirmed, credit card charged ;)

Y!.com is apparently the first and only of their portals with the new design. Wonder if and when it will be employed in Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

Agreed, and much nicer. Anyone have stats on how many people are still using 640-480 res. anyway? I can't imagine it being that high.

All I can say is thank god for the update to Yahoo! Now if they would only release who they are going to go with for their new Partner. The question is will Google maintain or be replaced. Soon we shall find out, in the meantime. I say we enjoy the new look of yahoo. Wow! Last night when I visited, one minute it was the old design, the next was the new design. I agree with the above post, it doesnt look like a 12 year old did the design anymore, or for that matter, it doesnt look like the original design from back in 1996-7. LOL! The old Yahoo! Logo was beginning to hurt my eyes, with all of Yahoo!'s money, you would think a long time ago, they could have afforded a designer to clean it up.

And to think that a year or two ago this design wouldn't have been accepted into Yahoo's directory because of browser compatibility. They would have lost their $299 until they did a redesign.

It's great! They've remembered to put 'bgcolor=white' in the body tag! No more grey backgrounds for Mac users.

Yeah, now it looks like it was done by a thirteen year old using the geocities on-line editor...

richlowe, hhahaha... I was going to say the same thing in my above post... Nah, it might look like a 14 year old's design now. And aint that the truth about losing $299. Yahoo's site was looking like one of the worse on the web. So boring. Still boring, but a little bit of a kick to it now.

I'm actually surprised that they axed that top mini-banner from the new design. My Yahoo! contact says they were making quite a bit of dough on that.

Suprising that search is still featured in such prime real estate on the page.

I like the new look. I still like the very old Yahoo look (odp) better, but what is there now is better than what was there for the last two years.

I'm surprised they've not announced any search deal yet, but it sounds like it might be extended a few months for negotiations.

I'm just glad they got rid of that old logo and finally antialiased the new one!
