Yahoo - Big Changes!

Changing Daily

Hello. We have several websites on Yahoo and see that over the past week or so, every one of our websites is moving up or down daily. There does not seem to be a ryme or reason why each site is going up or down. All I do know is that half of our business comes from Yahoo and before this change happened we were doing really well every day. Now we are seeing half the traffic one day, normal the next, some of our great sites are being dumped and some of the lame ones moved to # 1 position. Anyone see the same thing or have any idea what is going on with this??

Maybe it has to do with the Fast rumors. I'm a little worried that one of my sites is finally doing well, primarily from a #1 Yahoo ranking on its top phrase. If Google (and therefore PR) is being kicked out, who knows.

I was trying to show a prospective client one of our number 1 rankings there, I wasn't happy when he got an entirely new ranking.

This has been happening for about a month now (at least for the sites that I look at).

Hi Johnlerner, welcome to WmW.

I've been seeing this as well, perhaps not every day but every few days Yahoo seems to shuffle its results.

Also, they're testing a new look, so often they send users to that new look - m19.yahoo.com - so the results are different (taken straight from google).

We'll have to wait a bit to see what's going to happen with Yahoo.

I don't see it. We have not budged either way on the 4 most common search terms for 3 weeks.

I've seen it too- I somehow moved up to the #3 spot for the best keyword possible- I'm utterly amazed. I doubt this could stay consistent...and I too am getting paranoid that the loss of Google will drastically reduce my Yahoogle and possibly even regular Yahoo traffic. Even through I do slightly better on some top keywords in Fast, I've recently realized that there are hundreds of other lessor keywords where I'm on the top of Google and place NOWHERE in Fast...

Hello, I just posted a thread asking about that "m19search.yahoo.com" thing. I thouoght it was one of those spin-offs. I'm not complaining though. I'll take 'em any way I can get 'em!
Birdman ;)

<BTW />posted that thread in google forum because the results were from them.

Pirincho, I think they were down temporarily, you can submit now.

I see another change since last night.

I wonder if this is just for competitive categories, or all cat's? Does anyone know?

I am seeing changes in competitive areas except for the #1 position which stays pretty solid. I am just wondering if there is a degree of randomization on some listings just to mix it up a bit.

There were changes about 3 weeks ago, I see nothing since. Must be select cats.

Have Yahoogle results always been numbered? I noticed results were numbered and also spaced differently than I remembered. Formatted more like Yahoo Web site matches.

Disclaimer:
I've not spent time in Yahoogle results recently so I may just be remembering wrong. Somebody pipe in if it's been this way for a while.

Hi Again.. We just sumbitted another new site and when it was registering after the credit card part, I saw at the bottom of the screen yahoo/fast/addsite/ or something close to that.

Donno if that has to do anything with FAST??
or I should say, alltheweb.com Anyway, 14 of our sites are doing crappy now and 1 website is absolutly kicking butt! Thank god we still have 1 good one that is by far making up for all the rest. Any idea's on how to save the other ones? Or should we just wait and see?
How about the $2,500.00 a month package?
anyone tried that? It is hard to run a business when anyday the only big one may fall and then ,
if the others go up, we are in big trouble as we will have lost 90% of our traffic from Yahoo.
I need more engines , what's the best for results?
