I've gotten at least one refferal today from ink.yahoo.com . It is Google results and says "powered by Google," but why is there this subdomain?

Obvious speculation: Yahoo is switching to Inktomi.

All the time, it's just a left over from the bad old days :)

You will even see av.yahoo from time to time.
