Re-vitalising my listing

We're a UK online shop.

We're listed #1 in Yahoo.com for our primary search phrase but that gets us lots of USA traffic which seldom buys, so we redirect to another site (customer option). That site pays us about 8 cents for each click.

Our UK listing would be much more useful for us in theory, but in practice, it generates a small and ever-shrinking number of referrals.

I read at the Yahoo site, that the answer to the question "How can I improve my listings" is "You can't".

Are there really no further options? I paid $600 for these listings.

Cheers,
Chris

Would sliding a few more "UK" "country you are in" "region you are in" maybe help? Many people search for a particular region or country, and regardless of your .com or .co.uk, they will still be using the same keywords. (maybe make sure that if you used an MS spell checker that some of your words are not spelled the American way)

Brotherhood,

Thanks for your suggestion.
I've just revisited Yahoo.com.
They say you can't update your listing with a view to improving your ranking. Such requests will be ignored.
So I don't know how to implement your suggestion.

Since its a directory, presumably updating my website won't change the directory listing or our performance in Yahoo searches.

Have I got this wrong?

Cheers,
Chris
