Good Friday Morning WebmasterWorld;
Hey there guess what I'm seeing throughout all my sites in the refer tags? research@yahoo.com with IP's of 209.126.176.3 as the user agent/browser.

Looks like its been indexing my site and requesting robots.txt

Has this guy always been around for a while or are people just starting to see it. Is it something that only shows for people listed in the Yahoo Directory ?

I'm not in the Yahoo directory and this agent is all over my site (2 different agents). When I have time I'll investigate further.

I doubt it's a valid e-mail address.

You do know that yahoo employees use yahoo-inc.com addresses, yahoo.com is for their free email service.

My bet is that this visitor is using a tool similar to SamSpade.

I've logged the following agents from this IP address today:

WinampMPEG/2.00 (larbin@unspecified.mail)
Mozilla/5.0 larbin2.6.2@unspecified.mail
Mozilla/5.0 (larbin2.6.2@unspecified.mail)
Mozilla/4.0 research@yahoo.com
Mozilla/4.0 (research@yahoo.com)

My advice? deny from 209.126.176.3. ;)
