I've gone to the bottom of the right category and submitted my site about every two months for the last century. Any ideas? I looked through the postings but didn't see anything quite like this question. Please excuse me if it's an old topic.
Also, does anywhere know a good (free) place to see a current (maybe monthly) listing of the top search engines?
Thank you, Peter
I don't agree with their "ranking" in their list (how could our beloved GOOGLE be # 4???) - but they state that they are using their own status criteria for their list. Useful? I dunno. I mean....they still have Infoseek in the list :o

If that doesn't work... I'd probably just give them the money..

Thank you.
I believe that Yahoo wants sites to be accessible for all surfers, so that could be it. It's certainly not worth the risk of $299 for a year, particularly if there's no revenue from the site. The Javascript issue was brought up in a thread here not too long ago.
Thanks for the input. I'll just give up with them.
I must say again, though, that it's ironic that they would list me in their magazine. That's what got my site so much attention!
I'm up to over 1200 visitors a day now which is pretty good for an old man's hobby!
Thanks again,
Peter
I used to try to sell topic-related books with very clever techniques that got me nowhere. I finally decided just to keep it free. Also, you don't have to pay to get listed in search engines.
I figure when I hit 25,000 visitors a day maybe someone will come along and make me an offer. Haha.
Putting content on the homepage and the calculator on a second page would work if it weren't for the fact that 99% of the reason visitors come to my website is to use the calculator.
On another subject... now I see even more clearly why I never got into Yahoo's directory. It was only recently that I learned that people browsed without JavaScript. At that time I added the note that it was required.
So in the past when Yahoo has taken a look I guess they only found a blank screen and figured my site was down.
Thanks again for the input, Peter
P.S.
If Yahoo! were really cleaver, their search engine results would include sites that required JS IF the searcher's browser was JS enabled. That'd be easy to do!
