I wasn't sure where to post this question so I decided to start here.

Can you raise your Yahoo ranking after you are added to their directory? I have a site that comes up pretty well in MSN but I am next to last for my keywords in Yahoo. Is there any way to fix this now?

Hi Kastro,

Once your site has been added it's harder to improve your rankings, but it's definitely possible.

Work on your websites link popularity and on-page criteria, such as meta title, kw density and kw in header tags. This might help.

Maybe you know something I don't, and if you do, I would appreciate your sharing it with me.

To the best of my knowledge, linkpop, KW density and Meta/Title tags are irrelevant where Yahoo directory positioning is concerned.

Ranking factors have everything to do with keywords in the site title (business name), description, in the URL (delimited with hyphens, etc.), and in the words making up the category name. Plus how long visitors stay at the site (stickiness factor, thanks to code they licensed from DirectHit).

If you have info supplemental to that, or contrary to that, I'd sure like to know about it. Send me a sticky.
