Can a new host/server affect my position?

I want to change web-host for a site (the name will stay the same). The site currently rates fairly well on Yahoo.com and Yahoo.co.uk. Can a change in host/server affect my position? Does a new IP/DNS affect Yahoo in the way it can affect Google?:

A client of mine had this enforced on them by an ISP recently. They decided to assign a new IP for their domain and change servers without notice.

So far, there has been no change at all in the positions they had before the swap. I have been testing the SERPS also and all now direct seamlessly to the new location.

Hope this helps!

I don't think this should have an effect on rankings. I've moved several sites and their rankings don't change.
