I am having a problem which just started -- I am sure that Yahoo used to list my site's home page if I typed in the company name or the url in the search box. Today I don't see it at all. I don't know what to do. This is like typing Microsoft and not seeing www.microsoft.com as a listing.
I have not paid ( ever in the past ) for a Yahoo submission, although I have previously submitted the site ( it has been up for years)to search engines and also through network solutions a couple of weeks ago. I recently changed some content on the home page, but I've done that before. I just submitted to Overture last week and haven't heard from them yet.
Any ideas? Is there anything I can do? Prospective customers should be guaranteed to see a compay's web site by merely typing the company's name in the search box, shouldn't they?
Thanks for the help!

Is your site already in the Yahoo directory, or did it come up in Yahoogle?
To find out, go to Yahoo and type in your URL (www.sitename.com). Then, if your site appears under the websites, you'll know it's in the directory. If it appears under web pages, it's in Yahoogle. If it doesn't appear at all, there are several options:
A. Your site isn't listed in Yahoo
B. Your site was listed in Google and got dropped
C. Your site is listed in Yahoo but you can't find it through the search box, you have to look for it in the category. This seems to be a glitch they're having, where sites are in the directory but you can't see them through the search box.
Also, it could be that you dropped in the rankings because Yahoo recently shuffled around many categories.
When I tried the same thing in google, where typing my company name in the search box also doesn't show results, I find that typing the url in google's search box brings up my site and it's google directory listing, under Regional > North America > ....> ...> Business and Economy > Computers
.
What now? Not sure what to do.
Thanks!
