Has anyone else noticed strange results on Yahoo of late?

After the algo change last week my site dropped from #1 to #26 :( Much to my delight my site moved up to #6 yesterday, then this morning it is now back down to #26. From what I know of Y! and what I have read in this forum this is not typical behaviour for Yahoo.

Anyone else experience similar things and would anyone like to have a stab at what is going on?

Spider, ;)

Yes, I have. In fact, my Yahoo listing is showing an Inktomi description.

I also have a feeling that this may be due to click popularity.

I've heard some people say that Yahoo gives a boost to new domains that get listed, then they're dropped, and then they get a stable position when Yahoo updates (once a month for competitive cat's, don't know about the rest of the directory).

arachnid,

Yes...you are not seeing things, Yahoo has been shifting around for the last couple of weeks.

2_much, I agree, I have witnessed this as well and there is other shifting taking place with older sites as well at the moment.

Gr, are you serious?

That is astounding! I assume that we are talking about a listing in Yahoos directory

A couple of questions:
1) How long has it been displaying the Ink description?
2) Is it a paid ink page?

I for one would be very interested to see if there are any others who have experienced this. Is it a sign of things to come?

How even is the shifting for you guys? I was at 15, bounced to thirtysomething, and now back at 15. Just wondering if it is only two algos switching or it is more random than that.

I went from #1 for two very strong keywords down to # 5 and #6. I also went from #8 on a super mega keyword down to #62. Traffic is about 25% of what it used to be. Does anybody have a clue about their new ranking criteria? The title, description, and category seem to be playing less of a factor. Is it based more on clickthrough?

Ink pages in Yahoo? Did I miss something important here? Yahoo does not even use Ink.
