Weird error in viewing email

I cannot seem to view my email from home...

Hi there,

I need some help. I'm trying to figure out why on earth I cannot view my yahoo! email from my house, yet when I go to my boyfriend's place, I can read it just fine.
When I'm at home, my web browser boots up and the default page is mail.yahoo.com. So I go and type in my yahoo! id and my password, and it goes to that website for confirming the id and password, then it goes to the actual page for me to view, except when it gets there, all it shows me a grey web browser....I can't see the page I want to see.....

Can anyone help me out??
I'm running a really old version of IE on my old computer, but as I type this, I'm running a fairly current version.
