Just Got a Free Listing!! Would it be ok to request a desc change?

Hi All,

As the subject says I just got a FREE listing in Yahoo! through a regional submission and am stoked :-) It took 2 submissions and about 1.5 months.

Only thing is I want to request a change. I want to slightly change the desc plus add a new service. Do you think it would be pushing it to ask for this? It's just with the new ranking system it will make a difference.

Also it is not listed yet (only got email today) so is it better to ask now or wait and see what desc they put first?

TIA
Soph (who's still doing the happy dance :-))

Hi Soph,

Congrats! That's great news, thanks for sharing.

I'd definitely wait and see what description they give you.

As to requesting the change, you can always use their change form but it may not work. I don't think they'd drop your site if you request a change, but most people report that the change form isn't too effective. But hey, maybe you'll luck out again!

I've not had much success using the change form with my submissions to Yahoo and all of mine have been paid ones.

Well done for getting it in free

Thanks 2_much & tigger for your help.

I took your advice and waited until I saw what they wrote. They pretty much kept it as I wrote it except for the opening keyphrase which was dropped :-(

Still since the new algo it really seems to be a moot point if your domain and name don't have your phrases in them. Will wait to see how it pans out in the next few weeks.
