Our Company is operating in extremely competitive industry, and I feel there is a serious problem with getting our new sites into Yahoo directory.
Does anyone have any specific recommendations/tips or know an expert with proven experience who can help us to be listed in Yahoo directory?

Without more specific details its pretty hard to say much. Keywords or industry might help.

Got some "casino site" vampire calling me every 2 weeks, should I tell him again I am not interested or mail him garlic purée in a syringe?

I believe this itself may be your problem. Just how many sites are you trying to submit and how different are they, content-wise?

Yahoo is the simplest entity to deal with. They are exceedingly straightforward.

Your best bet will always be to get one company to do your SEO and work with them. Otherwise, everyone will be bumping heads. Therefore, you need to find a person/company you trust and work with them.

Thank you for the feedback! Laisha, can you recommend anyone who can help us with that?

Macguru: I am not the guy who is calling you evry two weeks.
Sorry ;-)

I wonder if you remember me asuprun i spoke to you just over 1 year ago...if you are the same bloke using the domain placeformedia.com and wanting a certain site "enter casino" positioned in the se, asked a lot of probing questions then i never heard from you again :)
Maybe it was my seo techniques ... hehe

Dear Quinton,

Thank you for your reply.

We would like our main site www.******* to be top ranked by the major search engines for the following keywords:

casino
gambling
poker
online casino
online gambling
casino gambling
internet casino
casino game
free casino
internet casino,

and a few other

You can position additional mirror domains of our main site - it's up to you.

Please advise.

Looking forward to receiving your reply soon.

Hi Asuprun,

We've talked about various tips for getting listed, even in competitive industries, in this forum. You can browse through the topics by going to the forum index, or you can use the search feature (top left) for answers to specific questions.

Although it may be quite difficult there are always ways to get into Yahoo, if you study them and play their game.

>everyone will be bumping heads

Sounds like that is what is happening, multiple independents attacking the same target, it must stick out like a sore thumb. Maybe now is the time to reassess tactics because when something stops working it's time for a change.

A change of emphasis away from the direct target cat may help. ROI will inevitably decrease but when you are after the last few % points that is often the case.

Step back from the industry, forget all you have "learned" and be innovative!

Thanks, NFFC!
Sometimes it is very hard to do in a certain environment...

Hey Asuprun,
Sorry about the unfriendly banter :)
Dont know what came over me!
Try redesigning your site totally, use a different ip and using the domain name online-casino.cy with the same title to see what sort of results you get!
Maybe you should try employing a company to submit you, i believe some companies do it for an extra $200 and you get your money back if it fails...maybe something simple like too much js?

I think you can get cyprus domains from ..
University of Cyprus
Computer Center
Kallipoleos 75,
P.O. Box 20537, 1678 Nicosia
CYPRUS
But im not sure on the rules.
