a thousand searches for some obscure term in one day?

Can anyone think of a reason why I'd be getting nearly 1,000 searches from Yahoo in one day for an extremely obscure multi-word phrase relating to pets? I checked their "buzz" searches and it doesn't appear to be on there, is there some other place they show searches like this or should I be worried about this? I didn't even know I was ranked for this phrase before today, and it doesn't show up on the overture tool as even getting any searches.

do these requests look strange? e.g. one request every second, only one page per session?

Maybe someone is testing some kind of click-bot?

I also had a similar thing last year. All of a sudden I saw searches with terms hardly used for my site. After investigation I noticed that all of them were from Egypt. But after a few days it dried up again. So I assumed that there was an article in an Egypt newspaper or magazine about that topic and people started to search the internet to learn more about it and so came to my site.

I've looked through the statcounter history and I don't think it's a clickbot - or if it is, it's really sophisticated, because they're coming from different countries, including the U.S., there is not an abnormally high rate of clicking, and some of them go to random other pages on the site.

The part I don't understand is just that I'm over 1,000 hits from that phrase now, and I'm on the bottom of the first page of results - so there have to be a ton more searches, but I can't find this in any prominent location.
